Open Question: 93 Corolla.. HELP! Can i convert my headlights from 9005/9006 to h4?

I converted my 93 corolla to jdm headlights which use h4 bulbs (which contain both high/low in 1 bulb).. My car (being American) uses 9006 for lows & 9005 for highs. When the high beams were switched on, the lows stayed on also (from factory). I can wire them to do both at the same time but the bulb explodes due to heat. How do I use an h4 bulb and use high or low beam at seperate times?
